Energy efficiency retrofits to selected homes have been documented through this series of video presentations, beginning with a site survey and concluding with the finished remodel and test out. Working with local partners—Better Building Performance, Nevada Energy Star Partners Green Alliance, and Home Free Nevada—the Building America Retrofit Alliance (BARA) team has selected two homes in the Las Vegas Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) that are featured as an educational experience for home performance professionals, building trades, remodelers, and the general public.

The two homes being improved, 7224 Carmen and 1824 Sierra Hills, Las Vegas, NV, are located in an area with one of the greatest number and percentage of foreclosed homes within the entire city. In this area, over 11 percent of the existing housing stock is in foreclosure with many of the homes vacant or abandoned.
